INTERVENTION TEACHING ASSISTANT
Job description
The Teaching Assistant position centres on delivering targeted interventions 1:1 or in small groups, in line with Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and EHCPs. It would suit someone who can bring patience, empathy, and adaptability in supporting diverse needs to the role.
Role overview
Requires a flexible and empathetic approach, as you will support pupils with a range of needs, from mild learning difficulties to more complex SEN requirements. By implementing structured programs and individual support plans, you will help pupils develop confidence, overcome barriers to learning, and make measurable progress.
Main responsibilities
Delivering targeted interventions 1:1 or in small groups, in line with Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and EHCPs. Supporting pupils in literacy, numeracy, social-emotional learning, and communication skills. Implement positive behaviour support strategies, helping pupils to develop emotional regulation and interpersonal skills.

Requirements
- Relevant qualifications such as Level 3 Teaching Assistant, ELSA, or SEN-specific training.
- Proven experience in supporting SEN pupils or delivering targeted interventions.
- Experience with intervention programs such as Little Wandle, 1st Class@Number, or Lego Therapy.
