We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Investment Banking Associate to join our EMEA Consumer & Retail M&A team, based in London. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is highly motivated to work in a dynamic team, to contribute to our Investment Banking business and the leading M&A franchise focusing on transactions in the Consumer & Retail sector.

Our product group is focused on the origination and execution of public and private M&A transactions within in the Consumer & Retail sector. You will get exposure to the largest clients within . Morgan's Consumer & Retail franchise across all regions in EMEA, and across all types of transactions including sell-sides, buy-sides, public-to-private, carve-outs, etc.

As an Associate in the Investment Banking EMEA M&A team, you will play a central role in advising clients with respect to Consumer & Retail M&A transactions. You will have great exposure in a variety of the landmark M&A transactions that take place in EMEA, working closely with country and the Consumer & Retail coverage teams in the bank, whilst being part of a group that consistently ranks as one of the EMEA's pre-eminent M&A advisory franchises.

You will work with expert professionals at the heart of a leading global investment bank and will get exposure to formal training, hands-on learning opportunities, continuous mentoring and feedback, and numerous development opportunities. You will develop strong skills in the major areas of investment banking and will be given the opportunity to develop into a senior officer who is capable of generating and executing their own transactions.

Job responsibilities 

  • Participate in the full cycle of transactional execution, including preparing marketing pitches, formulating, conducting, and reviewing financial analysis, preparing and presenting client presentations, and managing day-to-day M&A process activities
  • Develop content for strategic meetings with clients regarding M&A or capital market transactions
  • Prepare advanced financial analyses and build complex valuation and M&A models 
  • Manage communication with clients, counterparties and other advisors throughout the transaction process
  • Provide leadership, mentorship and supervision to Analysts
  • M&A experience is required
  • Demonstrated technical ability and overall corporate finance proficiency
  • Ability to take ownership of transactions, with significant exposure to clients, other third-party advisors, and counterparties
  • Detail-oriented, proactive and able to manage time appropriately across competing demands
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

    This role encompasses the performance of regulated activity. The successful candidate will therefore be subject to meeting regulatory requirements in the assessment of fitness, propriety, knowledge and competence (as assessed by the Firm) and (where appropriate) approval by the relevant regulatory authorities to carry out such activities.
