KS1 Teacher focuses on delivering high-quality ks1 lessons that develop phonics, reading and early mathematics.

What the role involves

• Delivering high-quality KS1 lessons that develop phonics, reading and early mathematics.
• Monitoring impact and refine approaches to accelerate progress.
• Leading small-group and one-to-one interventions.
• Ensure continuity of learning between Reception and KS1.
• Supporting transition into Year 2 across Bedford.
• Work closely with TAs to scaffold learning, adapt resources.

Skills and requirements

• The KS1 Teacher will teach across Key Stage 1 as required.

Candidate fit

• Qualified teacher with solid KS1 experience and the flexibility to teach across Year 1 and Year 2.
• Strong pedagogical knowledge of early reading and mathematics and experience delivering interventions.
• Available to start January 2026.
