Leakage Technician
Leakage Technician focuses on undertake survey work/project work not normally associated with day-to-day leak detection.
What the role involves
- Undertake survey work/project work not normally associated with day-to-day leak detection.
- Assisting repair gangs by providing leak detection.
- To undertake a detailed survey to identify the type and location of water leakage on large diameter pipes.
- Carry out adequate and accurate completion of all paperwork (including time sheets, survey forms, leak details) and other duties as required.
- Performing a Step Test is one of the most effective ways of identifying high leakage within a water distribution network . It requires the establishment of zones of DMAs where wate.
- It is usually carried out at night since this is the time when consumption is lowest and most stable - it also means less disruption to consumers.
Skills and requirements
- Experience within Step Testing, Trunk Mains, Validation and Seepage would be desirable but not essential.
Candidate fit
- Technical judgement, safe working habits, careful diagnostics, and practical problem-solving.
Additional role context
- FJA are working with a large water utilities company who are recruiting for experienced Leakage Technicians who will be responsible for day-to-day leak detection activities.
- Leakage Technicians must be proficient in the use of leakage detection equipment, including a correlator, pipe tracer, ground microphone and listening stick.
