Learning Support Assistant
Job description
A small school in Fishponds, is looking for a Learning Support Assistant to start ASAP until the end of the academic year on a fixed term contract. Pay rate is £104 - £115 per day.
This is a school that serves as a supportive first placement for young children who are recognised as needing a specialist setting or not currently flourishing in other placements. The needs of the children include profound and multiple learning difficulties, severe learning difficulties, autism, and complex needs ranging from early years and key stage 1. This school specializes in building close relationships with families and providing the best support around each child's unique learning and development to enable the best possible outcomes.
The school's curriculum is developed for the pupils from researched EYFS models. They require highly trained staff to follow an early years play based approach with a strong emphasis on outdoor play and learning. They aim to support their children intensively during their crucial foundation years, also working with a range of therapists to ensure best practice. A good learning support assistant at this school would be able to have an adaptive and caring approach as well as a passion for helping students achieve their full potential.

Role Requirements
- Experience working in a similar role
- Communication Skills: The ability to effectively communicate with individuals with PMLD and interpret their responses and intentions
- Empathy and Compassion: Demonstrating understanding and compassion towards people with PMLD
- Adaptability: Being flexible and adaptable to the changing needs of a person with PMLD
- Possession of enhanced DBS certificate, or willingness to complete one
