The role
We are working closely with a well-established secondary school with sixth form provision in Northumberland to recruit a Learning Support Assistant. This role is ideal for someone with experience supporting pupils with SEN, SEMH, or additional learning needs, either on a 1:1 basis or within small groups.
The school has a calm, structured learning environment and a strong pastoral culture, with clear systems in place to support both pupils and staff.

£90 – £110 per day | PAYE | Depending on experience

Responsibilities
Provide in-class and targeted learning support
Support pupils with SEN, SEMH, or EHCPs
Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
Support behaviour, engagement, and emotional regulation
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and pastoral teams
The ideal candidate
Experience working with children or young people (education, care, youth work, etc.)
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Calm, patient, and consistent approach
Able to work flexibly across year groups
Open to day-to-day or long-term placements

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
