Learning Support Assistant
Learning Support Assistant focuses on learner support - provide 1:1 and small‑group support to learners with send, learning difficulties, disabilities, or additional needs.
What the role involves
- Learner Support - Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to learners with SEND, learning difficulties, disabilities, or additional needs.
- Classroom Assistance - Support teaching staff with lesson delivery, differentiation, and behaviour management.
- Record support interventions, and contribute to support plans.
- Progress Monitoring - Track learner progress.
- Communication Support - Assist learners with communication needs, including those using AAC, Makaton, or BSL (if applicable).
- Pastoral Support - Promote learner wellbeing, independence, confidence, and resilience.
Skills and requirements
- Experience supporting learners with SEND, learning difficulties, disabilities, or behavioural needs (desirable but not essential).
- In addition to you applying for an enhanced DBS Certificate should you not already hold a suitable certificate registered on the DBS Update Service.
