What the role involves

  • Supporting pupils’ learning in the classroom, both 1:1 and in small groups.
  • Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and preparation of resources.
  • Providing targeted support for pupils with additional needs (SEN).
  • Encouraging pupils’ confidence, independence, and engagement in learning.
  • Supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development.
  • Helping to maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.

Skills and requirements

  • Previous experience working with children (school-based experience desirable).
  • A patient, supportive, and positive approach.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children’s development.
