Job description
This Learning Support Assistant opportunity is built around providing 1:1 targeted support for identified SEN pupils across a range of secondary subjects. It would suit someone who can bring confident working 1:1 with pupils who may display dysregulated behaviour to the role.
What the work leans on
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. This role is primarily 1:1 and small‑group based, supporting students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), including needs such as Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD,.
Where the technical work sits
- Provide 1:1 targeted support for identified SEN pupils across a range of secondary subjects.
- Supporting pupils with ASC, SEMH and behavioural needs, using consistent routines and strategies.
- Supporting pupils during unstructured times (breaks, lunchtimes and transitions) when required.
Technical requirements
- Previous experience supporting SEN pupils in a secondary school setting.
- Background in youth work, care, psychology or education.
- This role is subject to enhanced DBS checks and satisfactory safeguarding references in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance.

Practical details
- In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
- All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
