Due to the continued success and expansion of Summergil House School, we are growing our team and welcoming new pupils. This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive, values-driven community and play a key role in shaping a child’s experience from their very first day.

You will do more than support pupils—you will help them settle, build confidence, and develop independence as they begin their journey with us.

About the Role
This is a hands-on, rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will support children with autism and complex needs in a structured, nurturing environment—helping them develop life skills, regulate emotions, and achieve meaningful progress.

Learning goes beyond the classroom, including outdoor activities and practical life skills such as cooking and daily routines that promote independence.

Our Values
  • Respect and dignity
  • Patience and understanding
  • Consistency and trust
  • Growth and independence
  • Teamwork and support
We believe the right environment and people can change lives.

 Why Join Us?
  • Funded qualifications and career progression
  • Full training (SEN and behaviour support)
  • Health cash plan (after probation)
  • Blue Light Card discounts
  • Refer-a-friend bonus up to £1,000
  • Strong, supportive team environment
Key Responsibilities
  • Support pupils (1:1 and small groups)
  • Assist with lessons and behaviour support
  • Encourage emotional regulation and positive behaviour
  • Support routines, transitions, and personal care (where required)
  • Deliver engaging indoor and outdoor learning
  • Build strong, trusting relationships
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
  • Experience with children or vulnerable individuals
  • Calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • Basic IT skills
Desirable:
  • Supporting Teaching & Learning qualification
Important Information
This role can be physically and emotionally demanding. Some pupils may display behaviours of concern, requiring calm and consistent support.
