Job description
As a Learning Support Assistant, the work centres on we’re looking for Behaviour Support Assistants to work in a primary school in BS16, supporting pupils who need a different approach to thrive. It would suit someone who can bring stay calm when things feel anything but calm to the role.
Where the work sits
Building trust with pupils who’ve had a tough time in education. A clear pathway into Ed Psych, Clinical Psych, or Teaching.
How the role works day to day
We’re looking for Behaviour Support Assistants to work in a primary school in BS16, supporting pupils who need a different approach to thrive. Ongoing training (including de-escalation and SEND support). Long-term placements where you can build relationships.

Stay calm when things feel anything but calm. Understand that behaviour is communication.
Practical details
- In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
- All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
- Additional detail: Flexible working options may be available.
What needs to be in place
- Hands-on experience with behaviour and emotional needs.
- All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and subscribe to the DBS Update Service.
- Relevant teaching, instruction, or learner-support experience.
