Role Title: Learning Support Assistant

Normal Place of Work: Weymouth College Campus

Normal Hours of Work:  0900-1630 Monday to Friday (Term Time Only - 36/52 weeks per year) 

We have multiple permanent posts available for this role, ranging from 12 to 32 hours per week 

Main purpose of role

To provide essential learning support to students with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), particularly those with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). To ensure that students are proactively supported to develop their independence and to achieve their full potential.

We are seeking professional, caring and reliable Learning Support Assistants to join our team at the Weymouth campus. The successful candidate will be confident in Maths, English and IT to provide essential support to students with additional learning needs, ensuring they have equal access to educational opportunities and can achieve their full potential.

Learning Support Assistants provide essential learning support to students with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), particularly those with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). To ensure that students are proactively supported to develop their independence and to achieve their full potential.

You could be working in any vocational or academic area such as in a fully working motor vehicle garage, in a theatre, a working beauty salon, a photography or art studio or a working on site restaurant supporting students to meet their potential and to help build their confidence.

The successful candidate will be expected to uphold the highest standards of child protection and follow all statutory guidance, including Keeping Children Safe in Education.

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Applicants must declare all relevant convictions and cautions that are not protected under the Exceptions Order 1975 (amended 2013 and 2020).
