Role: Learning Support Assistant - ASC/SEMH Needs

Location: Wythenshawe

Salary: £23,500 - £25,000 PA

Hours of Work: 8.15am-4pm

Leader Group is proud to be partnering with a SEND Education Service provider to recruit a passionate Learning Support Assistant. We currently have a great opportunity for a SEND school based in Wythenshawe.

About the role:

You will work closely with pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, providing tailored support both in and out of the classroom. You will play a key role in creating a safe, nurturing and structured environment where young people can thrive. Pupils have a range of SEMH needs and ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition).

Key Responsibilities:

• Support pupils with behavioural, SEMH and additional learning needs
• Build positive and trusting relationships with students
• Deliver targeted one-to-one and small group interventions
• Use positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques
• Encourage emotional wellbeing, confidence and resilience
• Support learning within the classroom and during transitions
• Work collaboratively with teachers, parents and external professionals
• Maintain accurate records, progress notes and safeguarding concerns

Requirements:

• Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable individuals
• Calm, patient and resilient approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to manage challenging behaviour positively
• Passion for supporting young people to achieve their potential
• Relevant education, care or behavioural support experience desirable
