Lecturer in Sport/Public Services focuses on teaching and assess learners across a range of sport & public services programmes, supporting learners from level 1 through to level 3 qualifications.
What the role involves
- Teaching and assess learners across a range of Sport & Public Services programmes, supporting learners from Level 1 through to Level 3 qualifications.
- Delivering engaging, practical, and industry-relevant lessons that develop fitness, teamwork, leadership, communication, and employability skills.
- Supporting learners to achieve qualifications and progress into employment, apprenticeships, higher education, or careers in sport, emergency services, or public sector organisations.
- Maintaining high standards of safeguarding, professionalism, health & safety, and learner wellbeing.
- A relevant qualification in Sport, Public Services, Uniformed Services, Sport Coaching, Fitness, Outdoor Education, or a related subject (Level 3 or above).
- A Level 4 teaching qualification or above is welcomed — but if you don’t have one yet, we’ll support you to achieve it while you work.
Skills and requirements
- 🕰️ Contract Type: Permanent, Part Time 29.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.
Confirmed role details
- Unqualified Lecturer: £29,294 per year, pro rata.
- Teachers’ Pension Scheme – secure your future with an excellent pension.
- Generous Holiday Allowance – 37 days, pro rata paid annual leave + 8 days, pro rata paid bank holidays.
- College Closure & Wellbeing Days – including a fully paid 2-week, pro rata Christmas break.
