Skills and requirements

  • Experience of teaching creative pattern cutting and construction in Higher Education within a fashion design context.
  • A good first degree together with a PhD in a relevant discipline or equivalent qualifications/industry experience.
  • Substantial knowledge and experience in advanced construction methods, pattern cutting methodologies, and garment construction.
  • A PGCE, Certificate of Education, PGCLTHE or membership of the Higher Education Academy (or commitment to obtain within three years of appointment).

  • We seek a Lecturer in Creative Pattern Cutting to contribute to teaching and student experience across a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
  • Alongside a contemporary aesthetic you will have the ability to connect advanced construction methods and technical expertise with current fashion systems, including responsible ma.
  • Predominantly teach across UG/PG Fashion Design programmes at the Manchester Fashion Institute and contribute towards student progression and satisfaction, and positive graduate ou.
