What the role involves
- However, the role is also part a global Linux team and will work very closely with US colleagues to ensure all work is done in a globally consistent manner.
- All operational duties both first and second line including working shift hours between 7am-6pm.
- All systems administration tasks on the Linux estate.
- Hardware administration of Linux servers.
- Administer storage solutions for both production, archive and corporate systems.
- Maintaining and enhance monitoring & management tools.
Skills and requirements
- Advanced knowledge of Linux, particularly RHEL.
- Experience of working practices required for a mission critical, zero downtime environment.
- Strong scripting skills with the ability to automate monitoring and management.
- Experience of configuration management (Salt build RPMs, deploy updates).
Candidate fit
- Technical judgement, safe working habits, careful diagnostics, and practical problem-solving.
Additional role context
- Be a member of the London infrastructure team that is responsible for administering, maintaining, and supporting Linux and storage systems.
- The primary responsibility is for London based systems.
