Job Type: Temporary | Part-Time | Term-Time Role Prospero Teaching is looking for a nurturing and experienced SEN Specialist Tutor to support a KS1 student in Bexley on a 1:1 basis. Desirable: Background in SEN education, Speech and Language, or Early Years/KS1.

How the role works day to day

Delivering engaging, personalised sessions in early literacy, speech and language, and basic numeracy, aligned with the student’s developmental level. Supporting social communication and interaction skills using visual aids, role-play, and real-life scenarios. Work closely with parents/carers and professionals to ensure consistent, holistic support.

Practical details

• This is a rewarding role for a tutor with a calm, consistent, and child-centred approach, able to work closely with families and professionals to help the student reach their full.
• This student has a diagnosis of Autism (ASD) and requires tailored support in key developmental areas including literacy, speech and language, numeracy, social interaction, and SEM.

What needs to be in place

• Formal teaching or SEN qualifications ( QTS, Level 3+ SEN, SaLT assistant experience).
• Strong understanding of KS1 curriculum, early communication strategies, and SEMH interventions.
• Experience working with primary-aged children with ASD and additional needs.
