Mechanical Design Engineer

Mechanical Design Engineer focuses on produce detailed pipework designs, layouts, and technical drawings.

What the role involves

• Produce detailed pipework designs, layouts, and technical drawings.
• Supporting projects from tender stage through to detailed design and DfM.
• Interpret client requirements, site data, and P&IDs to develop workable solutions.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and site teams to ensure successful delivery.
• Provide technical input into tenders, proposals, and cost-effective design solutions.
• Ensure designs are fit for purpose and manufacturable.

Skills and requirements

• Knowledge of standards such as LPCB, BS EN 12845, NFPA, or ACOP L8.
• Experience with sprinkler systems, cooling water systems, or industrial pipework.
• NVQ Level 3 or higher.
