Mechanical Design Engineer

Mechanical Design Engineer focuses on reporting into the engineering team, this role will focus on the design, development and validation of mechanical systems for wearable medical devices.

What the role involves

• Reporting into the engineering team, this role will focus on the design, development and validation of mechanical systems for wearable medical devices.
• Develop mechanical components and assemblies for wearable medical devices from concept through to production.
• Create detailed 3D CAD models, engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Supporting prototyping, testing and iterative design activities across the product lifecycle.
• Apply structured medical device development processes, including design control, risk management and verification & validation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external suppliers to ensure designs meet manufacturing and quality requirements.

Skills and requirements

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in mechanical design within MedTech.
• Proficiency in CAD preferably SolidWorks, with experience producing detailed engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes relevant to wearable devices, including plastics, elastomers and precision assembly.
