What the role involves

• Provide engineering oversight to ensure compliance with nuclear safety and environmental regulations.
• Supporting the integrated project team through technical assessment and resolution of contractor queries.
• Carry out nuclear safety and environmental assessments and categorisation of engineering queries.
• Review design and engineering decisions to ensure alignment with overall project strategy.
• Maintaining effective working relationships with the Responsible Designer and wider engineering stakeholders.

Skills and requirements

• Support from other engineering disciplines and external organisations as required.
• Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Experience in system design, mechanical design, installation, and/or commissioning.
• Understanding of Health & Safety legislation, including CDM and Nuclear Site Licence requirements.
