Mechanical Inspector
Mechanical Inspector focuses on conducting dimensional and visual inspections of products at all required stages of manufacture, including 1st off, fair, final view, pre-treatments, and goods in/out.
What the role involves
- Conducting dimensional and visual inspections of products at all required stages of manufacture, including 1st off, FAIR, final view, pre-treatments, and goods in/out.
- Raising purchase orders for sub-contract suppliers.
- Identifying and labeling non-conforming products, raising NCRs in accordance with procedures, and containing non-conforming parts.
- Communicating product non-conformity to quality engineers and production teams in a timely manner.
- Completing FAIRs in compliance with applicable procedures.
- Utilizing customer quality processes and software, such as Net Insp, as required.
Skills and requirements
- A proven track record in mechanical engineering.
- Solid experience in the aerospace or a similar industry.
- Inspecting products at various stages of production to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Preparing and maintaining accurate documentation, including certificates of conformity and FAIRs.
Confirmed role details
- Competitive hourly rate of £17.50, depending on experience and skills.
- Start at 7am or 8am and finish at 4pm or 5pm, Monday to Friday. Options to condense hours into fewer days are available.
- A standard 39-hour workweek with the potential for additional hours.
