What the role involves
- Measure, price, and value M&E works across containment, busbar, cabling, HVAC systems, plant installation, commissioning allowances, and associated preliminaries.
- Develop detailed, auditable variation cost models including star rates, labour norms, and benchmarked data sets.
- Manage the commercial impact of design development, sequencing, commissioning strategy, access constraints, and change.
- Challenge subcontractor applications and quotations using robust, evidence-based commercial analysis.
- Manage commercial positions effectively both upstream and downstream.
- Work collaboratively with operational teams to ensure commercial alignment with delivery strategy and programme requirements.
Skills and requirements
- Strong experience measuring and pricing M&E works within complex building services environments.
- Proven ability to build structured, auditable variation and cost models.
- Confident in challenging subcontractor pricing using data-led and evidence-based reasoning.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to protect and defend commercial position.
Confirmed role details
- £50,000 – £75,000 basic salary (dependent on experience).
