What the role involves

  • Provide technical ownership for semiconductor metrology and inspection equipment, ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant operation.
  • Repair metrology systems to minimise downtime and optimise performance.
  • Act as subject matter expert for inspection and surface‑analysis tools, supporting manufacturing.
  • Leading fault finding, root cause analysis, and corrective actions across equipment, hardware, software.
  • Driving continuous improvement activities to enhance tool availability, performance, and data quality.
  • Supporting equipment upgrades, retrofits, and recipe optimisation in line with process requirements.

Skills and requirements

  • Proven experience as an Equipment Engineer or Metrology Engineer within the semiconductor industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose complex equipment.
  • Process issues with a structured, data‑driven approach.
  • Experience working in cleanroom environments and high‑volume fabs.
