We are seeking an outstanding and inspirational Music Teacher to join a highly prestigious secondary school in the affluent Kensington area. The Role

The school is looking for a qualified Music Teacher with proven experience teaching across all key stages, up to GCSE and A-Level. The ideal candidate will possess both high practical ability and a deep understanding of musical theory, history, and technology. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering exceptional, engaging lessons in Music to students from Key Stage 3 through to A-Level, covering diverse musical styles and historical periods.
  • Developing and implementing an ambitious curriculum that incorporates advanced composition, performance, and music technology skills.
  • Directing and coordinating a range of extracurricular musical ensembles, orchestras, choirs, and bands, and organizing prestigious public and school performances.
  • Guiding students through examination preparation and supporting those aiming for highly competitive university and conservatoire placements.
  • Collaborating with the Arts faculty to maintain and enhance the school's outstanding reputation for creativity and performance.

Candidate Requirements

To be considered for this elite position, you should have:

  • A degree in Music or a related performing arts discipline from a strong university.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a PGCE (or equivalent teaching qualifications).
  • Extensive proven experience teaching Music at the secondary school level, with expertise at A-Level.
  • High proficiency on at least one musical instrument and expertise in utilizing current music technology (e.g., sequencing, notation software).
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and leadership skills, with a passion for nurturing individual musical talent.

Salary & Application

The salary for this position is highly competitive and will be paid to the MPS/UPS scale (Inner London pay scale), commensurate with your experience and superior qualifications.
