This Night Shift General Maintenance Operative opportunity in Microsoft Excel, Word is built around providing shift cover for opposite shift members during periods of absence. It would suit someone who can bring supporting site-by-site logistics operations while learning systems, routines, and working standards to the role.
Who the work supports
Ensure that Critical cooling water systems and any domestic systems are maintained to comply with the requirements of the L8 standard. 18th Edition IEE: Wiring and Installation (Ability to attain 18th Edition through additional training if you have 17th Edition) C&G 2391 test and inspection; BS 7671:2001 for inspe.
How support shows up
Provide shift cover for opposite shift members during periods of absence. Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out maintenance of the critical and non-critical plant. Ensure that routine maintenance is carried out to all building plant, equipment, and systems to meet and exceed expectations, and agreed service level agreements.

What needs to be in place
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in Critical Environments such as Banking HQ and Data Centres.
- Electrical/Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship would be a bonus.
- Ability to work under pressure whilst remaining calm, clear thinking and able to deliver the required services to the client within given time constraints.
Job details
- Overtime on weekday and x2 on weekends + day in lieu on bank holidays.
- Standby rate is £15 per day and £50 on bank holidays.
- 25 or 20 Day shift days holiday plus bank holidays (pro rata into shifts for shift workers).
- Ability to buy and sell holidays – buy 5 days & sell 2 days.
