What the role involves

• Provide clinical and operational leadership across the mental health unit.
• Ensure the highest standards of safe, effective, and person-centred care.
• Oversee clinical governance , including audits, risk management, incident reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Develop the nursing workforce, including recruitment, supervision, training, and performance management.
• Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver positive patient outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, policies, and procedures.

Skills and requirements

• Current NMC registration as RMN, RGN, or RNLD.
• Substantial experience within mental health services.
• Previous experience in a senior nursing or management role.
• Strong understanding and hands-on experience of clinical governance frameworks.
