Operating Department Practitioner focuses on assisting in the delivery of safe, high-quality perioperative care within urology theatre settings.

What the role involves

  • Assisting in the delivery of safe, high-quality perioperative care within Urology theatre settings.
  • Maintain theatre environments, ensuring equipment and instruments are ready for surgical procedures.
  • Supporting anaesthetists and theatre practitioners during induction, maintenance, and recovery phases of anaesthesia.
  • Monitoring patients throughout the perioperative pathway, ensuring safety, dignity, and comfort at all times.

Skills and requirements

  • Registered ODP with HCPC registration.
  • Current experience working within as an ODP for a minimum of 6 months within the last 12 months.
  • Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary theatre team.
