Operations Manager

Operations Manager focuses on work with the senior business manager to ensure that all financial/budgeted targets are achieved for the contract including but not limited to overtime, staff numbers and revenue.

What the role involves

• Work with the Senior Business Manager to ensure that all financial/budgeted targets are achieved for the contract including but not limited to overtime, staff numbers and revenue.
• Supporting staff training and development and periodically review training requirements. Ensure all staff have an up-to-date job description and receive a thorough induction when they.
• Constantly review the waste collections and street cleansing operations to ensure that efficiency levels are continuously improved upon, bringing value-added financial performance.
• Assisting the company in achieving its published business objectives and complying with all procedures.

Skills and requirements

• Transport Manager CPC Qualification.
• People and health and safety management in a unionised environment, including experience of disciplinaries, grievances, recruitment, etc.
• Proven track record of working to clearly defined service delivery KPI’s (key performance indicators).
• Experience of vehicle management – CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence), tachographs, Road Transport Directive.

• The Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring that high levels of customer service are maintained at all times, whilst delivering on the contract’s KPI's.
• They must also ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with the requirements of the contract, Biffa Policies and Procedures, industry related legislation and healt.
