What the role involves

• Leading multiple workstreams, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of project outcomes and system capabilities.
• Act as the voice of the customer, engaging with stakeholders to represent user needs, presenting solutions, and ensuring requirements are met.
• Define and establish the target operating model, advocating behavioural changes and embedding new ways of working.
• Overseeing the development and implementation of the new Chart of Accounts (CoA), engaging stakeholders, presenting worked examples, and creating supporting documentation.
• Managing project infrastructure, logistics, and high-quality documentation, ensuring alignment with delivery milestones and governance standards.
• Provide regular updates and recommendations to the Project Board.

Skills and requirements

• Fully qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/CCAB) with excellent knowledge of UK financial reporting standards (FRSs) and the Higher Education SORP.
• Proven experience leading large-scale, complex transformation projects within finance or systems environments.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g. Agile, Waterfall) and tools like Microsoft Project.
