Paraprofessional Level 1 — 27.5 hours per week focuses on monitors and supervises curriculum-based testing and makeup work as assigned by the certified staff.

What the role involves

  • Monitors and supervises curriculum-based testing and makeup work as assigned by the certified staff.
  • Performs clerical, classroom maintenance, and instructional duties as assigned by the certified staff.
  • Demonstrates ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students in the school environment and community.
  • Plans instruction techniques and methodologies and prepares lesson materials based on assessments of individual students and their needs.
  • Administers assessment tests and interprets results to identify student needs.
  • Records and reports assessment data to teachers and school administrators.

Skills and requirements

  • EDUCATION: This position requires a high school diploma. An associate’s degree is desired, but not required.
  • EXPERIENCE: Experience working with elementary students in a classroom setting is desirable.
