Pathology Coordinator

Pathology Coordinator focuses on supporting the pathology department, by acting as a link between the department and other clinical departments, including ward and theatres.

What the role involves

• Supporting the Pathology department, by acting as a link between the department and other clinical departments, including Ward and Theatres.
• Dispatch and transport in an effective and correct manner, managing the dispatch of laboratory results.
• To perform tasks associated with specimen handling.
• Ensure safe handling and maintenance of equipment.
• Ensure correct segregation of waste.
• Commitment to ensuring quality services are delivered to both internal & external stakeholders through continuous improvement activities.

Skills and requirements

• Maths, English GCSE at grades A to C or equivalent functional skills level 2 evidence.
• Able to work with numbers for billing and revenue capture purposes.
• MUST have Venepuncture and ECG skills.
• Good organisational skills.
