Payroll Officer focuses on responsible for monthly/weekly/councillor payroll processes in areas of specified responsibility in accordance with council's policies and procedures.
What the role involves
- Responsible for monthly/weekly/councillor payroll processes in areas of specified responsibility in accordance with Council's policies and procedures.
- Ensuring the timely delivery of the weekly/monthly payrolls to agreed timescales including the payroll sections annual objectives and work programmes.
- Communicate operational issues to the Senior Payroll Officer to ensure quality of services is maintained.

Skills and requirements
- Five GCSEs (Grades A-C) or equivalent, including a numerical subject and English Language.
- Be able to demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples on the application form, two years' experience in a payroll environment within a large multi-disciplinary organi.
- Timely and accurate provision of a payroll and pensions service.
- The use of an accounts software package such as Total or Sage.
