Power Electronics Engineer
Power Electronics Engineer focuses on design & develop: lead the schematic capture and pcb design of low and high-voltage power electronic sub-assemblies.
What the role involves
- Design & Develop: Lead the schematic capture and PCB design of low and high-voltage power electronic sub-assemblies.
- Component Selection: Specify and select critical components, including Power Modules, DC Link Capacitors, and Gate Drivers.
- Drive the verification and testing processes for power electronics devices.
- Collaboration: Capture specifications and requirements in line with industry standards, and actively support design reviews for electronics and software projects.
- Lifecycle Management: Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM), component specifications, and engineering drawings.
- Resolve development, launch, and ongoing quality issues, maintaining detailed design records and implementing engineering changes where required.
Skills and requirements
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
- HV Experience: Proven experience designing analogue and power electronics up to 1000V and power ratings >150kW.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with schematic capture, PCB design tools, and circuit simulation.
- Component Knowledge: Strong understanding of IGBTs, MOSFETs, and associated drive/monitoring circuitry.
