What the role involves

  • Provide personalised tutoring sessions for primary school students with SEN, adapting content and teaching style to meet individual needs.
  • Supporting students in developing core skills in subjects like Maths, English, and general study habits.
  • Create a nurturing, supportive, and safe learning environment where students feel confident and motivated.
  • Track students’ progress and offer regular feedback to parents/carers.
  • Develop individual learning plans, with a focus on therapeutic approaches when needed, to support various SEN needs (Autism, ADHD, SEMH).

Skills and requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience tutoring or teaching primary-aged children, particularly those with SEN.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain).
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or PGCE in Primary Education.
  • Experience working with children with Autism, ADHD, or SEMH.

Confirmed role details

  • GBP25 per hour (starting rate).
