Principal Nuclear Safety Consultant

Principal Nuclear Safety Consultant focuses on delivering consultancy that meets, and exceeds the expectations of the client, in regard to technical excellence and the quality of deliverables.

What the role involves

• Delivering consultancy that meets, and exceeds the expectations of the client, in regard to technical excellence and the quality of deliverables.
• Developing and present robust and reasoned arguments in a rational and coherent manner.
• Provide technical checking and/or verification for technical.
• Liaising with all concerned on technical progress.
• Taking documents through the earlier stages of client governance.
• Supporting stakeholder management internally and for clients.

Skills and requirements

• Minimum of 8 years professional engineering/technical specialist experience.
• Have a degree or equivalent in engineering, science or related field of study.
• Understanding of the safety case production process and methodologies for more than one client.
• Familiarity with areas such as decommissioning, optioneering, best practice, human factors, radioactive materials transport, licensing, radioactive waste.

Confirmed role details

• Warrington or Abingdon (hybrid).
• Non Contributory Pension Scheme.
• 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays) increasing by 1 day per year of service up to a cap of 30.
