Principal Structural Engineer focuses on review structural calculations, drawings, and specifications, with a particular focus on reinforced concrete (rc) design.

What the role involves

  • Review structural calculations, drawings, and specifications, with a particular focus on reinforced concrete (RC) design.
  • Expertise: Undertake structural inspections, site surveys, and supervision of construction activities. Support project planning, budgeting, and client communications.
  • Collaborate: Liaise with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions.
  • Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Quality: Ensure compliance with relevant UK design codes and standards (e.g. Eurocodes).
  • Become part of our dynamic Water business, which boasts around 600 experts across the UK & Ireland.

Skills and requirements

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Civil and/or Structural Engineering, or a similar discipline.
  • Proven experience in structural engineering design.
  • Design software including TEDDS and SCIA, or similar 3D finite element modelling tools.
  • Strong understanding of UK structural design codes.
