Fantastic development and progress opportunitiesWork for a a growing company in friendly environmentVaried role where no two days are the sameOn behalf of our client, a technically focused engineering and manufacturing business based in Letchworth, we are recruiting a Project Assistant to support live projects and operations, with a clear and structured pathway into Project Management.
This is a development-focused role, aimed at individuals with experience around technical products, a strong engineering / lean mindset, and the ambition to progress into a Junior Project Manager position within 18-24 months.
The Role
75% project support / 25% warehouse & manufacturing supportSupporting Project Managers across technically complex projectsCoordinating equipment deliveries and raising orders on internal systemsManaging invoicing, variations, and subcontractor bookingsArranging internal handovers and project meetings (agenda & minutes)Supporting RAMS, health & safety documentation, and O&M packsHandling client queries and customer service emailsReviewing and improving processes, procedures, and documentationOperational / Warehouse Support
Receiving, labelling, moving, and storing deliveriesOccasional lifting, pallet movement, and warehouse organisation(Candidates must be comfortable with a hands-on, physical element)Candidate Profile
Experience working with technical or engineering-led productsStrong engineering or lean mindsetFull right to work without the need for sponsorshipHighly organised with excellent time managementPM-style thinking: ownership, coordination, accountabilityStrong admin, IT, and numerical skillsConfident communicator and team playerElectrical exposure or FLT/telehandler licence beneficial but not essentialSalary, Benefits & Progression
£35,000 basic salaryMobile phone costs coveredCompany-provided lunch for all office-based employeesHours: 07:30-17:00 (flexible to suit the candidate)Holiday: 22 days plus Bank HolidaysIncreasing by 1 day per year of service (up to a maximum of 25days)Career Path
Progression to Junior Project Manager within approximately 18 monthsSalary progression to £50-55k, rising to £65k+ with experienceThis is an excellent opportunity for someone technically minded who wants a long-term career in Project Management rather than a static support role.
