Qualified Occupational Therapist focuses on conduct an initial school visit (60 minutes) to observe the young person in class and meet with their lsa.
What the role involves
- Conduct an initial school visit (60 minutes) to observe the young person in class and meet with their LSA.
- Delivering sensory-based workshops (90 minutes each) tailored to the young person’s needs.
- Complete joint assessments (90 minutes each) with the Qualified Teacher for Vision Impairment (QTVI).
- Provide clear, effective written reports with equipment and strategy recommendations following each assessment.
- Collaborate with school staff, parents, and multidisciplinary professionals to ensure consistent support.
- Maintaining high‑quality clinical documentation in line with professional and safeguarding standards.
Skills and requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working with children and young people with SEND.
- Strong sensory integration knowledge and experience.
- Report writing, and delivering workshops or training.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
