Qualified Occupational Therapist focuses on conduct an initial school visit (60 minutes) to observe the young person in class and meet with their lsa.

What the role involves

  • Conduct an initial school visit (60 minutes) to observe the young person in class and meet with their LSA.
  • Delivering sensory-based workshops (90 minutes each) tailored to the young person’s needs.
  • Complete joint assessments (90 minutes each) with the Qualified Teacher for Vision Impairment (QTVI).
  • Provide clear, effective written reports with equipment and strategy recommendations following each assessment.
  • Collaborate with school staff, parents, and multidisciplinary professionals to ensure consistent support.
  • Maintaining high‑quality clinical documentation in line with professional and safeguarding standards.

Skills and requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working with children and young people with SEND.
  • Strong sensory integration knowledge and experience.
  • Report writing, and delivering workshops or training.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
