Quality Inspector
Quality Inspector focuses on the quality inspector will ensure that manufactured components and assemblies meet specified quality standards, dimensional tolerances and compliance requirements.
What the role involves
- The Quality Inspector will ensure that manufactured components and assemblies meet specified quality standards, dimensional tolerances and compliance requirements.
- Coordinate measurement machine (CMM) operations and help drive continuous improvement of quality systems.
- Carry out incoming inspection of parts/materials, in-process inspection and final inspection of assemblies.
- Use CMM (coordinate measuring machine) equipment to measure parts to drawing/tolerance specifications.
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications and measurement results.
- Record inspection data, non-conformances.
Skills and requirements
- Proven experience as a Quality Inspector (or equivalent) in a manufacturing environment, preferably precision engineering or electromechanical manufacture.
- Experience operating and programming/interpreting results from a CMM (coordinate measuring machine).
- Strong understanding of dimensional metrology, engineering drawings, GD&T, specification tolerances.
