Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging Religious Studies lessons across KS3 and KS4

  • Teach Religion, Ethics, and Philosophy to a high academic standard

  • Assess, monitor and track student progress effectively

  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners

  • Create a positive and purposeful classroom environment

  • Contribute to curriculum planning and resource development

  • Support SMSC, PSHE, and wider Humanities initiatives across the school

  • Prepare students successfully for GCSE examinations

  • Participate fully in departmental meetings, parents’ evenings and school life

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree in Religious Studies, Theology, Philosophy, or a related subject

  • QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification

  • Experience teaching Religious Studies across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable)

  • Strong classroom management skills

  • Excellent subject knowledge in religion, ethics, and philosophy
