Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are looking to recruit a Research Assistant to join their Eye Research Group team. The post holder will aid the timely management of individuals and families referred for ophthalmic research participation assisting with the coordination and delivery of planned health care as part of observational / data collection and interventional clinical trials.
In addition, the post holder will be supporting ERGO in contributing to the effective quality of care for patients, taking part in observational and interventional clinical research and coordinating assigned research studies alongside the Investigators and Research Nurses
This role involves active involvement with recruitment of clinical trial participants and to assist in the provision of information and support to patients and families embarking upon study participation.
Main duties of the jobThe Research Assistant will play a key role in supporting ophthalmic assessments for clinical trials conducted across various specialties within the Trust, including oncology, respiratory, cardiology and dermatology. The postholder will be responsible for seeing patients referred from these departments as part of their participation in observational and interventional studies. Working closely with the Eye Research Group Oxford (ERGO), the role involves coordinating patient visits, collecting data, and ensuring compliance with research protocols and regulatory standards. This position is vital to enabling other research teams to meet their study requirements where ophthalmic input is essential.
