What the role involves
- Conduct detailed inspections of residential and commercial properties, documenting disrepair in line with legislation and standards.
- Provide expert recommendations to resolve housing condition claims.
- Preparing comprehensive Schedules of Disrepair, outlining defects, causes, and remedial works.
- Produce impartial expert witness reports compliant with Part 35 of the Civil Procedure Rules.
- Advise landlords, tenants, and legal representatives on disrepair matters.
- Attend site meetings, joint inspections, and court appearances as required.
Skills and requirements
- RICS qualification (essential).
- Proven experience in surveys and preparing Schedules of Disrepair for legal cases.
- Strong knowledge of housing legislation, landlord and tenant law, and building regulations.
- Experience with disrepair software/databases (desirable).
Confirmed role details
- Full-time, 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
- Term: Permanent.
