What the role involves

  • Conduct detailed inspections of residential and commercial properties, documenting disrepair in line with legislation and standards.
  • Provide expert recommendations to resolve housing condition claims.
  • Preparing comprehensive Schedules of Disrepair, outlining defects, causes, and remedial works.
  • Produce impartial expert witness reports compliant with Part 35 of the Civil Procedure Rules.
  • Advise landlords, tenants, and legal representatives on disrepair matters.
  • Attend site meetings, joint inspections, and court appearances as required.

Skills and requirements

  • RICS qualification (essential).
  • Proven experience in surveys and preparing Schedules of Disrepair for legal cases.
  • Strong knowledge of housing legislation, landlord and tenant law, and building regulations.
  • Experience with disrepair software/databases (desirable).

Confirmed role details

  • Full-time, 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
