What the role involves

• At Prospero, we work with local authorities to arrange 1:1 tuition for students accessing alternative provision.

Skills and requirements

• With our tuition roles, you do not need to be a qualified teacher.
• At least 4 months working in a school or educational setting.
• We’d also expect candidates to have some prior experience within education.
• This could be as a teacher, teaching assistant, or in a pastoral or support role.

Confirmed role details

• S63, within the students home.
• 10 hours per week.
• English and Maths tuition for a Year 7 student working below ARE.
• Expected delivery of knowledge: KS2 – KS3.

Candidate fit

• patience, clear communication, classroom awareness, and confidence supporting learners

Additional role context

• Our registration process ensures that we are following safer recruitment guidelines and safeguarding the students that we work with.
• An enhanced DBS registered on the update service (recommended but not required, as you can apply for a DBS through us).
• References covering 2 years (a full 24 months) of employment, as well as references for any work that you’ve had with children or vulnerable adults within the last two years.
