School Based Counsellor
The School Based Counsellor position centres on we provide an independent school based counselling service in all maintained secondary schools and the Pupil Referral Unit in the Local Authority. It would suit someone who can bring warm, steady communication with children and families to the role.

The service operates a face to face counselling service. Some work may also be undertaken outside of school hours and outside the school setting.
What you would be doing
We provide an independent school based counselling service in all maintained secondary schools and the Pupil Referral Unit in the Local Authority. We also provide counselling to pupils in Year 6 of primary school. We aim to support children and vulnerable adults to ensure they are as safe as they can possibly be.
What you need
- Hold a professional diploma in Counselling, have evidenced post qualification supervised practice and be accredited /registered with the BACP/UKCP or equivalent.
- Experience of working with schools and of providing counselling support to younger age primary children (school years 5-6) would be desirable.
Practical information
- This role is part-time at 18.75 hours per week, 39 weeks per year.
