We are excited to be working with an Outstanding secondary school in Manchester to recruit a high-calibre Science Technician. This full-time, permanent position is available for an April 2026 start and offers a fantastic opportunity to join a successful Science department. We are looking for a proactive individual who can provide meticulous technical support, ensuring laboratories remain safe and organized for students to achieve their highest potential.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare equipment and chemical solutions for KS3 and KS4 practical lessons

  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure consistently outstanding quality

  • Support the department in upholding the highest standards of Health & Safety and COSHH regulations

  • Assist students and staff during practical sessions with technical expertise

  • Manage stock control and the procurement of laboratory materials

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree or background in Science (Chemistry, Biology, or Physics)

  • Previous experience as a technician or in a laboratory environment

  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to laboratory safety

  • Must have the right to work in the UK

Salary and Benefits

  • Competitive Salary: £26,403 - £28,142 (FTE)
