Secondary Foodtech Teacher focuses on delivering both practical and theory-based lessons, including nutrition and food safety.

What the role involves

  • Delivering both practical and theory-based lessons, including nutrition and food safety.
  • Assess and track pupil progress, using outcomes to inform planning.
  • Preparing students for GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition, where applicable.
  • Maintaining a safe, organised, and well-managed teaching kitchen.
  • Contribute to departmental planning and enrichment activities.

Skills and requirements

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Opportunity to inspire students with valuable life and vocational skills.
  • All roles are subject to full safeguarding and vetting procedures.

Confirmed role details

  • Start Date: September 2026.
  • Full-time | Permanent / Long-Term.
  • £168-£232 per day (dependent on experience).
  • Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm.

Candidate fit

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent qualification.
  • Have experience teaching Food Technology or related DT subjects at secondary level.
  • Demonstrate strong subject knowledge in nutrition, food preparation, and hygiene.
