Secondary Tutor focuses on · deliver one-to-one or small group tuition in maths and english, supporting with gcse and functional skills entry level 3, level 1 or level 2.
What the role involves
- · Deliver one-to-one or small group tuition in Maths and English, supporting with GCSE and Functional Skills Entry level 3, Level 1 or Level 2.
- · Develop and implement personalised lesson plans that address individual learning gaps.
- · Monitor student progress.
- · Create a supportive and motivating learning environment to help students re-build their confidence in learning.
Skills and requirements
- Prospero Teaching are seeking dedicated QTS Tutors, or Teachers with Qualified Teacher Status, to support disengaged students in the Newcastle area.
- · Hold the right to work in the UK.
- · Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
- · Be able to reference the last two years of education/employment.
Confirmed role details
- These young people are not currently accessing mainstream education as a result of SEND, SEMH, permanent exclusion and various other reasons.
- Be supporting young people on a 1-1 or small group basis who are not currently accessing Full Time education for various reasons.
- · Pay rate up to GBP30 per hour depending on qualification and/or experience.
- · Start date: May 2026.
