SEMH Specialist Teaching Assistant
Job description
This Teaching Assistant role is focused on supporting pupils with SEMH needs on a 1:1 basis and in small groups. It would suit someone who can bring warm, steady communication with children and families to the role.
How the role is set up
Play a key role in supporting pupils both in and out of the classroom, helping them to engage in learning, develop independence, and achieve their full potential. We are seeking a passionate and resilient SEMH Specialist Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team within a highly supportive specialist school setting.
Where someone would start
Supporting pupils with SEMH needs on a 1:1 basis and in small groups. Assisting in delivering engaging and differentiated learning activities. Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies.
What is expected
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) – desirable.
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs.
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
Job details
- Full-time / Term-time only.
- In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
- All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
