What the role involves
- Delivering engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to students with SEMH needs.
- Supporting pupils with complex behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties in accessing learning.
- Implement effective behaviour management strategies and positive reinforcement approaches.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students to support engagement and progress.
- Adapt teaching methods to meet individual learning needs and abilities.
- Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and pastoral teams.
Skills and requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
