SEMH Teaching Assistant

Teaching Assistant focuses on helping with pupils learning and development.

What the role involves

• Helping with pupils learning and development.
• Supervising pupils in the playground, dining hall, cloakrooms and in class.
• Keeping records of each pupil’s progress against EHCP targets.
• Assisting with their health and hygiene.
• Helping students develop life skills and mentoring them to have a positive outlook.
• Be able to adapt resources to meet children’s individual needs.

Skills and requirements

• Relevant teaching, classroom, childcare, QTS, SEN, safeguarding, or early-years experience may be required.

Confirmed role details

• Short term – 7 weeks from June1st – July 22nd.
• Learning Support Assistant Role required in the New Milton Area for an ASAP Start.
• Staff work closely with families, creating a supportive atmosphere where young learners feel secure, valued and ready to explore new ideas.

Additional role context

• Trauma informed 1:1 Teaching Assistant – New Milton.
• Working 1:1 with a child with an EHCP.
• Have knowledge of Trauma informed practice.
